A beloved tradition in the heart of Neuchâtel

The Fête des Vendanges (Grape Harvest Festival) is a well-established tradition. For nearly a century, it has marked the start of autumn and celebrated the winegrowing heritage of the Neuchâtel region.

Each day of the festival features its own highlights:

  • Friday evening: The grand Guggenmusik night parade, with costumed marching bands from across Switzerland.
  • Saturday afternoon: The joyful and colourful children’s parade, a favourite with local families.
  • Sunday afternoon: The ever-popular flower parade, featuring decorated floats, brass bands and plenty of local humour.

The whole city transforms into a lively and festive space, with the scent of street food, music echoing through every alley, and cheerful conversations on every corner.

2025: A theme filled with imagination

The 2025 theme, “Legends of the Vineyards”, sets the tone for a whimsical and poetic edition. The flower parade and other festivities will be inspired by mythical creatures and dreamlike worlds, blending fantasy and vineyard traditions.

The Académie de Meuron will once again collaborate on the official festival poster. Children are also encouraged to dress up according to the theme for the Saturday parade.

Over 300 stalls and a dedicated wine village

Throughout the old town, over 300 stalls will be hosted by local associations, artisans and winegrowers. Visitors can sample regional specialities, enjoy a glass of Chasselas or Pinot Noir, and browse local products in a cheerful, family-friendly atmosphere.

Good to know: To purchase food or drinks at the stands, a FDV wristband is required (from CHF 2.–). The “Supporter” wristband also includes free public transport in designated zones and a standing place for the Sunday flower parade.
