NIFFF 2025: An International Celebration of Genre Cinema
Since its launch in 2000, the NIFFF has established itself as one of the world’s leading festivals for fantastic genre films. Its programme is rich and varied, featuring international, Asian and Swiss competitions, as well as showcases of digital and video art.
In 2025, the festival will present 127 films from 42 countries, ranging from works by celebrated names such as Julia Ducournau and Hélène Cattet & Bruno Forzani to fresh discoveries like those from Bertrand Bonello or Alexis Hémon.
In addition, the NIFFF hosts special events every year: retrospectives, open‑air screenings at the Place des Halles, and hands‑on workshops such as “From Beast to Page” (9 July). New this year, an expanded open‑air area will bring together film lovers and local restaurants, making it an even richer experience.
